Ein neuer Jarl sollte gew\u00e4hlt werden. Arngrimm trat freiwillig ab.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Gleich zu Anfang gab es unsch\u00f6ne Dinge zu berichten. Fast jeder Clan, der da anreiste, mu\u00dfte sich mit Wegelagerern herumschlagen. Diese behaupteten jeweils, einem anderen Clan anzugeh\u00f6ren. So wurden die Elgin von 8 Leuten des Helge-Clans angegriffen &#8211; dabei ist dieser mit 6 Leuten doch der anerkannt kleinste Clan des Landes&#8230;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Am Samstag wurde eine alte Tradition ausgegraben, ein Wettstreit. Gruppen von 7 Mannen wurden gebildet (teilweise Clan-\u00fcbergreifend). Diese mu\u00dften mehrere Aufgaben erf\u00fcllen: Bogenschie\u00dfen war ja noch ein leichtes. Dann kam der schwierige Part.<br>Snorri sagte: &#8222;Jetzt habe ich eine Aufgabe f\u00fcr euch, die nur ein wirklicher Mann l\u00f6sen kann.&#8220;<br>&#8222;Einen Moment.&#8220; Er ging in den Stall und man h\u00f6rte, wie er mehrmals mit dem Godenstab aufpochte. Dann kamen st\u00f6risch 3 Schafe aus dem Stall. Die Lieblingsschafe des Goden.<br>&#8222;Eure Aufgabe ist ganz einfach. Jede Gruppe w\u00e4hlt denjenigen aus ihrer Mitte, der am besten mit Schafen umgehen kann. Und dann hat derjenige 100 Trommelschl\u00e4ge Zeit, die drei Schafe in die Festhalle zu bringen.&#8220;<br>Das erwies sich als sehr schwierig. Der Mann der Thorskh\u00e4usar hatte eine eigenwillige Methode, Schafe in der Halle zu behalten. Er schlug sie k.o. &#8230; Aber auch der Jordbundir kannte eine erstaunliche Methode. Er hob das Schaf hoch und trug es in die Halle hinein. Eirik der Aal war zu aller Erstaunen der beste von allen. Er alleine schaffte es, alle Schafe in die Halle zu locken, und sie auch drinnen zu halten. Dabei half ihm auch eine Mohrr\u00fcbe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Und dann gab es noch den Wettbewerb mit den Gegenst\u00e4nden: jede Gruppe bekam ein schweren Gegenstand (von der gef\u00fcllten Holztruhe \u00fcber den 10 kg schweren Fisch bis zur Schafsstatue). Und dann ging es ab in den Wald. Wenn sich zwei Gruppen trafen, durften sie gegeneinander k\u00e4mpfen, der Gewinner bekam einen Gegenstand des Verlierers. Dabe war die Begegnung zwischen den Elgin und den Formenn der Hit: &#8222;Habt ihr einen Gegenstand?&#8220; &#8222;Nein, habt ihr einen?&#8220; &#8222;Nein.&#8220; Und dann nach kurzer Pause: &#8222;Wir pr\u00fcgeln uns trotzdem!&#8220;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Abends fand dann das Thing statt. Mit dem Ergebnis, da\u00df Bjarne der neue Jarl Nylands ist. Obwohl er gewichtsm\u00e4\u00dfig ja den fr\u00fcheren Jarls und einigen seiner Hersir unterlegen ist, achtet man ihn als Krieger und Viking-Anf\u00fchrer. Aber ob er das nylandische Volk in schweren Zeiten anf\u00fchren kann? Denn schwere Zeiten sind es tats\u00e4chlich: der Nachbar im Westen, die Vestfurther, griffen am Sonntag mittag an. Sie konnten erst nach langem Kampf zur\u00fcckgeschlagen werden. Bis auf einer, der etwas zu sp\u00e4t kam: &#8222;Tschuldigung, ich habe meine Einheit verloren&#8230;&#8220; (Das war nat\u00fcrlich <a href=\"http:\/\/www.thalianna.de\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Anja<\/a>). Doch das Ergebnis war ernst: ein Elgin verlor sein Leben, und Snorri bekam eine Pfeilwunde am Hals.
